Quickly got an outdoor table on a 90 degree Sunday afternoon.
Loads of nachos and excellent salsa.
As a first timer here I asked and received good advice about the various dishes.
Ordered a pollo e salsa with spicy salsa verde.
A huge platter with chicken in a delicious sauce, rice, beans & a bit of salad. Corn tortillas.
Well presented & friendly, attentive service.
    I'll be back!

This is my second time going to Garcia's. I live in the neighborhood and a lot of neighbors have raved about this place. However both times I have went I have had absolutely terrible service. It was outrageous and very poor from the management on down. This is coming from someone who has had over 8 years of food and customer service experience. I am in unbelief and very distasteful for how poorly I was treated along with my family.

Here is what happened. The restaurant  was not busy at all. We waited a couple minutes to get seated. Since it was nice out-we asked to be seated outside. We didn't realize the wind would pick up later on.

Meanwhile my wife and I ordered drinks right away and after this we waited for our waitress to return to ask us for our order. We waited forever for her to return. My 8 year old son was hungry at the time so we ordered his food right away. And she still did not have our drinks. Nor did she bring out his sprite.

At this time, I will admit I was on the phone however my wife could have ordered for both of us. We took some time to pick out what we wanted. But there was more time from the waitress. For her to even come back. I even told her what we wanted to order. She decided to walk away and help other customers who just arrived.

After this, since she still wasn't come back to wait on us. We decided to notice more of how we were being treated. As soon as she came back we asked to be moved inside and apologized for the change. Once we sat inside she still did not take our order. We expected at least our sons food to be ready.

There was no apologies, no responsibility whatsoever for her to explain her delay in coming to our table. It got to the point where I almost walked out after ordering our food. But I did not want to feel bad since we already moved from outside to the inside. I have never felt so awful at a restaurant in my life.

The staff even talked about us and how demanding we were. When in actuality we were simply wondering where our waitress was the whole time. And why we were not being waited on.

Once our food arrived. The waitress had a poor excuse for her service. She blamed me. And said it was my fault that I didn't order when she was at the table. Regardless, even my 8 year old son was very courteous despite this poor treatment. When the food arrived he still did not get his sprite that he ordered. Never once did she check on our food. I ordered the taco salad and it was cold as soon as it arrived.

My wife ordered a salad. And started eating it until she noticed a frozen fry that was in it. Instead of complaining she just set the salad aside. We have never felt so worthless at a restaurant ever.
We even had to wave them down for our bill. Despite them talking behind our backs to other coworkers and pointing out our table like we were infected.

Even when I asked to speak to the Manager she had nothing to say. Not once was there any apology offered. I told her at this point I did not care if the bill would be decreased. I literally just wanted her to reprimand her staff. However she took the side of her waitress staff instead.

CUSTOMER SERVICE 101: Here's a tip for you... the customer is always right no matter what.

This was the only time in my entire life where I wanted to dine and dash. I will never come back and if that's what they wanted well than so be it. No one should feel this way ever especially at a dine in restaurant. Please don't support this restaurant unless you want to be treated in some type of way where you feel disgraced and awful by the end of the night.

It hurts me to give 2 stars because Garcia's is somewhere I have gone quite a few times and never had a bad experience, but this experience was so bad I had to leave a review. For one I want to preface I have been here on Friday and Saturday nights where there's a wait and the place is full so I know they know how to handle a full house.

So a group of 5 of us came in per my suggestion after the pride parade a couple weekends ago. We were sat right away which is awesome, given chips and salsa, again awesome, and ordered a couple of apps and those came super fast too, again awesome so far. Well that's where it stopped. We had ordered a couple of pitchers as well at the same time we ordered our appetizers and we were pretty much done with the food by the time the drinks came. Not great, but fine it's busy. Then we ordered our meals and no joke it took 45 minutes for the food to come out. Now we saw it was busy so fine. Our issue was that the server did not come by once to say hey sorry kitchen is backed up. With her never coming back we never got to order any other drinks either so we were literally just sitting there, empty drinks and all. Finally a couple of guys come with our food and we figured our server would be by shortly to see if we need anything and again no where to be found. We ate our meals, no server still, and a couple of guys took our plates. We do then see our server to bring our check and she puts on an 18% gratuity for a table of 5. Now I never not tip at least 20%, but she did NOTHING after we got our drinks. So we wait a bit and I ask her when she comes by why is there an 18% gratuity on there? It's no where on the menu, no signs were up, never mentioned to us, and I've been there while square roots is going on and no gratuity then either if it's because it's busy. Her answer is that it's because everyone is drunk coming in so no one is tipping. I laughed because that margarita I had and my fiancé had at Garcia's was our first alcoholic drink. I said that's not right but fine we will go with it, would have just been nice for us to be told is all. I honestly did keep a very mild tone and was more of hey you should tell people. Maybe she didn't like that I laughed but I swear I thought she was joking at first. She got all crazy defensive, was very rude, blaming it on her manager. Well maybe if you would have come to our table at all we wouldn't have asked why the 18%. Craziness. In the end I felt very discriminated against which I am lucky to rarely feel and this left a very poor taste in my mouth about Garcia's. Not cool Garcia's.

This restaurant is pretty good. Decently priced. Good service. The food is alright. The atmosphere is a little loud inside, I prefer the outside patio.
Overall, this is a decent place but honestly nothing special.

I would definitely come back here for drinks, but the food was nothing special, in my opinion. I totally wish I ordered the steak tacos instead of the ground beef tacos because the ground beef had such a weird texture and didn't taste like 100% ground beef to me, but instead had a porky taste. The beef was also much drier than the steak, and I know this because the person I was here with gave me a steak taco to try and it was pretty good. The rice here is pretty good, though I put some of the pico de gallo on top because the pico was delicious. Before I put the pico on top, my rice was pretty chilly, so I wish it was warmer when it came out, too.

I wanted a Coronita but because they didn't have that specific drink on the menu, I made my own. So I chose to have a house margarita and put a Corona inside. It was DELICIOUS and huge, something most Mexican restaurants lack.

We sat outside here, and the atmosphere inside and out is very nice and relaxing. The windows next to the outdoor seating area open all the way up, so even if you don't want to sit completely outside, you can feel like you are.

Honestly, I wouldn't need to come here for lunch or dinner, but I would totally sit outside and have a few drinks again. Our waitress was very friendly and she always checked up on us.
